Learning to love your self is the reason why I think we were put in this life.
We know we’re human and make mistakes. Learning to love someone or something despite their mistakes is the very essence of love.
It takes courage to look at your true self, and see the beautiful being that you are. Now is the time to accept your mistakes and embrace them as part of the learning experience that is life.
Are you ready to wake up each morning feeling joy when you look in the mirror?
Let’s dive in and get igniting your soul.
Finding Your Self
When you find your true self, you can learn to embrace it. When you value your true self, you learn to value the fact that you’re a powerful creator of your own reality. And you realize you are deserving of love and respect from everybody.
When we’re children, we’re taught to align with social norms. Unfortunately, this can cause us to forget who we really are.
It was important a long time ago to be accepted as part of a group, family or tribe. We needed it to survive.
Now, however, we can be our true selves, and embrace it. And we can accept others’ true selves.
Finding Your True Self
There are some common ways we’ve talked about in prior posts about getting in touch with your inner self.
Getting a good night’s sleep is also a great way. Record your dreams if you remember them. And before you go to bed, tell your self that you want to learn more about yourself, ad that you want to remember the dreams in the morning.
In life, try making decisions differently. Think about what you want to do before you think about what the other people would want.
Self Love Isn’t Selfish
Self love is not selfish. It has nothing to do with arrogance or narcissism. Those are based in a lack of self love.
Most people want to hear what you think and feel. Give them the gift of your true self by letting them know.
Since love is the building block of the Universe, let’s find some easy ways to build up your self!
Building Self Love
I mentioned journaling and meditation. You can also regularly get out into nature and just be. Silence and prayer can also help open you up to your true self.
Another way that is not as easy as it sounds is to stay away from electronics and media. The news is designed to program you to be in a state of anxiety.
The news outlets try to make the stories sound upsetting so you continue to tune in. That ensures that they make money with their advertising.
Social media is also a dual-edged sword. It’s nice to stay in touch with people and see their pictures, but it can also pull you down. YOu may feel like they have perfect lives and yours isn’t good. Or there may be negative stories there.
Turn off the information overload. Spend time alone and with others who build you up inside.
You cannot truly love another person until you love yourself. So fill your soul with beauty and joy.
Every day, spend some time journaling about the wonderful things that you did.
Schedule some time for yourself each day. It could be exercise or a massage. But make sure you do something completely for yourself each day.
This may seem an odd suggestion, but stop interfering with other people. Let others make mistakes. What you consider a mistake may actually be an important learning step for them. Focus on making yourself a better person every day and let others focus on themselves.
And give yourself a hug. You deserve it.
Build these up as regular habits. It won’t be easy at first. You may talk yourself out of taking time for yourself.
But stay strong.
Then record what you did each day and feel proud of yourself for continuing to try.
Feeling Good at All Times
Every day, do your best to feel good. Feel how wonderful you are. That you’re worthy of appreciation.
You don’t have to feel great. You don’t have to feel that you’re a super success.
And there are times when you will feel sad or upset.
Just go quickly back to good when you can.
Quick Path to Self-Love
The quickest path to loving yourself is by being completely honest about who you are and what areas in your life you need to work on.
Look in the mirror and feel compassion for yourself.
Think about what you would tell yourself if you were your best friend.
Creative Ways to Boost Self Love
Visualizing your ideal life is a great way to get in touch with your authetic self. Then you want to take it to the next level with creative writing, or expressing your desires through a vision board.
You can also put your self-love in everything you do like cooking.
Travel to a place that sings to your soul and feel the joy.
Learn to trust your intuition. As you devleop that, you’ll learn more about your soul.
My Final Thoughts
The pinnacle of self-esteem culminates in self-realization. When you know who you are, and you love who you are despite imperfections, you have achieved true happiness.
One important skill to master is to be in control of your emotions. When you love yourself, you are more in control of how you will react to a situation.
Your ability to love yourself and others is all that really matters in life. It’s important to invest the time
