Do You Feel the Changing of the Seasons? Get Your Spring Mindset!

It’s time to get your Spring mindset!

It always amazes me every time the seasons change. It’s like a fun little miracle happening. And I never get tired of it.

Something changes with the light, the temperature, and almost even the air.

So how can you harness this new energy?

Spring Means Opportunity

Jim Rohn was a famous inspirational speaker. One of his favorite speeches was on how Spring is the season of opportunity and don’t waste it.

Life is about constant, predictable patterns of change. And the only constant factor is our feelings and attitudes towards life. We have the power to choose how we feel.

Spring is the time to put your plans into action. It’s a time of new growth and you’ll find yourself bursting with energy.

He also talked about how people often plant in the Spring and leave in the Summer. So be careful of this. What you plant now will need regular nurturing over the next six months.

Trust your own timing

In fact, learn to trust your inner voice. You know when it’s time to plant the seed, and you also know what seed you should be planting.

Often we know what we need to do when we need to do it, so why do we listen to other people instead?

It usually comes down to courage and focus.

You should visualize achieving your goals regularly so you can clearly see what you want, and feel confident that you will get it.

Give birth to what’s new in your life

It’s now time for you to blossom fully into who you’ve been focusing on the last nine months.

What have you been focusing on in your journals?

Take some time to review what you’ve been writing. Then ask yourself what the next step should be and why you haven’t taken it yet.

If you’re not sure what the next step is, take some time to meditate and journal, and I bet it pops right into your head.

If it doesn’t, then find a trusted friend and talk with them. They may be able to offer you some perspective.

Exercise Outdoors

Spring is a good time to change up your Winter routines. If you’ve been inside most of the time, look for activities you can do outside before it gets too hot in the Summer.

If you’ve been focusing on weights, add in some stretching.

Try a spinning class if you’re used to treadmills.

Do something different. You don’t have to stay with it if you don’t like it. But I do counsel trying something new and harness the energy of Spring.

Eating with the Seasons

A lot more vegetables and fruits will be coming in to season right now. Have you been missing peas?

Since Spring is the season of opportunity, you should try some new recipes.  You can search online for inspiration or go out and purchase a cookbook that you think will motivate you.

You should also connect with the lovely life cycle that is Spring.

Set up a small pot with earth and some basil or thyme seeds and let it grow in your windowsill. It doesn’t have to be big. Just plant a fresh herb that you enjoy cooking with.

You could even grow chives. They’re fun to cut and watch grow back.

Magical Seeds

There’s something magical about watching a seed grow. It reminds you of the cycle of life. And that amazing things can happen when you plant and nurture one little seed.

What amazing things will you accomplish?

Plant that single seed of a dream in your life today.

Then keep the weeds out. You can do this by meditating and visualizing on the successful achievement of your goal. You can acknowledge negative thoughts and then release them. Don’t let them hang around.

T. Harv Eker teaches how to say “Thank you for sharing” when a negative thought pops up. It helps you realize that it’s just a thought. You don’t have to think it’s important. And you can let it go and appreciate the next thought that comes in.

(Remember, you can choose your thoughts)

Nurture your little dream seed daily. Give it love and attention but don’t smother it.

And remember, no plant ever grows if you keep pulling it up and looking at the roots. Every plant has its gestational season.

A tomato needs a set period of time to produce and ripen tomatoes. Carrots need a set period of time to fully grow and develop that delicious root.

You need to accept that your dream seed needs a set amount of time to fully develop as well. It may not happen in the time frame you want.

(Believe me, I know. I have some dreams I’m still nurturing.)

You have to let go and let Life work its magic.

Get Your Focus

Have you fallen off anywhere with your goals or your habits?

Now is a good time to hug yourself and get back on track.

Start back up your morning routine if you haven’t been doing it.  Then write your goals down every single day. Something magical happens when we physically write down what we want.

When you are feeling stuck or frustrated, take a five minute break and write down your goals. You will immediately be connected back to what you want and why.

When I get a bit of the foggy brain, I will go outside and walk for twenty minutes. It’s amazing how much better I can focus when I come back to my desk.

Check Your Finances

Now is a good time to review your spending. If at all possible, look at how you spent money last year. Are there any upcoming expenses you should plan for? Will some expenses go down?

Have you been setting aside money for a holiday?

Look for opportunities to increase your income.

Do You Own a Business?

How did you do last year at this time? Is now a good opportunity to find more business? Maybe you could collaborate with another business to help you both.

Check your marketing. Has it been working well for you, or are there some new ideas that you want to try out?

Do you have employees? Maybe now is a good time for them to take their holidays if your business is busy during the Summer months.

Spring could be a good time to take a class in some area where you’ve been wanting to improve your business such as marketing or accounting.

It’s a good time to do some “Spring cleaning” of your website to be sure it’s telling customers how you can help them.

Now is a good time to reach out to your clients and give them a special offer.

My Final Thoughts

As the days get longer, I find I have more energy.  I want to run off in all directions. But now is a good time to be a quiet little plant. Reflect on your life, your goals, and your health.

That way, I can focus my energy on what’s really important to me rather than being scattered.

Spring is opportunity, after all. And now is also a great time to shake up your routine to improve your creativity.

What do you want to focus on achieving over the next six months?
