Ignite Your Dreams Using the Law of Attraction

Have you heard of the law of attraction? Perhaps you’ve seen the movie The Secret or What the Bleep Do We Know?

Did you wonder if it could work for you?

It absolutely can. There are some simple things you can do every day to bring your dreams into reality.

What Is the Law of Attraction?

The Law of Attraction basically means that what you want also wants you.

It can allow you to manifest your greatest dreams and your worst fears.

If you expect a positive experience, you will usually manifest it. And if you’re expecting a poor one, it will usually find you.

The Universe doesn’t understand positive or negative. It only wants to provide you with what you desire that’s connected to strong emotion.

Law of Attraction Myths

I attract all good things?

There are a few myths about the law of attraction. Often, people think it’s all about the affirmations. It’s not. It’s about focus mixed with emotion. Some people use affirmations to reconnect with their goal.

You may hear other people scoffing that the law of attraction is just wishful thinking or that we’re just deluding ourselves.

This generally comes up by people who have not bothered to study the law and they think it’s a bunch of people sitting around visualizing a car and affirming that they deserve the car.

That couldn’t be further from the truth!

The law of attraction requires effort. First, learning how to clearly identify what you want is hard work. Then continuing to feel positive and hold the dream tightly in your heart while taking inspired action in a world that is continually trying to knock you down takes a LOT of hard work.

The good news is that it gets a lot easier the more you do it.

How Do I Make It Work for Me?

Find an area in your life that you’d like to improve. That includes

  • Healthy love life and relationships
  • Better social interaction and communication skills
  • Increased money and wealth
  • Improved mental and physical abilities
  • Happy life and self-confidence
  • Healthy body

Just remember that it needs to be positive. If you wish to decrease your debt, unfortunately, the Universe tends to bring more debt. So focus on having an increased bank balance and that happy feeling of paying off your bills in full every month.

Clearly Visualize Your Goal

Make a SMART goal (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time based)

Write them down every day and then emotionally connect to your goals.

Don’t think about “just enough.” You should focus on big, grand goals.

Stop feeling guilty about wanting a million dollars. Think about how many people you can help when you’ve achieved that goal. You’re not being selfish. You’re being selfless.

You deserve all the wonderful things life can offer.

Plus you won’t be taking anything from anyone else, unless you’re wishing you had someone else’s spouse or their money or their house.

Instead you should be focusing on the most ideal situation for you and let go of wanting what someone else has.

Connect to Feeling

First, you need to understand why you want to achieve this dream.

Once you get there, you should feel excited and joyful! If you don’t, then you may want to re-evaluate your dream and be sure it’s what you really want.

Spend time every day visualizing with feeling how life will be when you’ve achieved these dreams and goals.

Be Grateful for Everything

If you are trying to attract money, be grateful for everything that comes in.

Spend time looking for the little things to acknowledge. They are often the harbingers of the big stuff.

Additional Tips to Help the Law of Attraction

Here are some other useful tips that I’ve found to improve your ability to manifest your heart’s desires.

Combat Negativity

If you convince yourself that you won’t get what you want, then you won’t. You need to be positive that you will receive it, and continue to believe it with gratitude.

If you start to feel discouraged, take a deep breath and reconnect to your dream.

Ground Yourself

Find a way to anchor yourself to a feeling. To do this, remember a time when you achieved something great.

Swell up with the joy and pride you felt. Then do an anchor. That’s just touching a part of your body like an earlobe or the part of your hand between your thumb and forefinger.

If you do this regularly, you will anchor the emotion to that part of your body. When you’re feeling negative, do your anchor movement, and you will flood your body with positive emotions.

Find Your Mantra

You can create a simple mantra to repeat that will help you regain a positive focus. You could remind yourself that you are doing your best. And that this too shall pass.

Life Has Cycles

Everything has a cycle, and the bigger the dream, the more focused effort it may take.

Pick the Weeds

We need to be responsible for keeping the weeds out of the garden of our mind.

If you have a negative thought, pluck it and put it on the compost heap. And don’t let it grow back.

Fill your mind garden with positive thoughts and images.

If you want to become a best selling author, and keep seeing stories about how no one makes money, turn off those stories. Go look for positive ones about people who make a good living publishing independently.

Work Your Plan

Make certain you’re doing something every day to gain momentum.

You know the old saying – if you want to be a writer, then write.

Start small. Consistency is key.

Meditate and Visualize

Spend some time every day meditating and then visualizing achieving your dreams.

Journal Your Dreams

Write every day what you want to have happen in detail. You can write it twice a day.

Some people recommend writing it on index cards and reviewing it regularly throughout the day, like if you’re waiting in a queue.

Avoid the “Hows”

think positive & positive things will happen

Let the Universe decide how to bring you what you want. Don’t tell the Universe. What you want may come from a completely different place.

So let yourself be open to pivoting. That being said, it does help to have a plan to get started.

Execute Your Plans

Just because you don’t know exactly how you’ll get there doesn’t mean you shouldn’t think about a path you could take.

You want to take inspired action.

It’s like you’re driving down a road at night. You know where your final destination is. But you can only go as far as you can see with your headlights.

So you keep going. If a road is closed, you follow the detour. You don’t turn around dejected because your first plan didn’t work.

Review Everything Regularly

Review how well you’re doing. Are you being consistent with your actions? Are you still able to connect the goal to your feelings?

It’s important that you’re still working towards something that ignites you.

My Final Thoughts

Know exactly what you want. Then keep on taking inspired action every day. Keep taking risks, making mistakes and learning from them. Fill your mind with positive energy. Keep your heart singing.

Never compare yourself to someone else. It may seem like they’re on the same journey to achieve the same dream, but they’re on their own path.

And don’t want something just because everyone else wants it. Maybe you’re not the type of person who wants to live in a big house in the suburbs with lots of cars.

So don’t visualize a dream that is meaningless to you.

Thinking won’t overcome your fear. Only action will.

And finally, believe with your whole heart that you can and will achieve this dream.
